How Does Spider Boom Pump Work

The working principle of spider boom pump is mainly based on its unique mechanical structure and control system. It is usually equipped with components such as telescopic arms and rotating platforms, which can achieve precise concrete placement in 3D space. So, the main components of spider boom pump include the main structure (arm system, rotating mechanism), power system (hydraulic system, electric system), conveying system (conveying pipeline, hopper), control system (electrical control system, remote control system), and auxiliary components (counterweight device, safety device).

These components work together to enable the spider placing operations in complex construction environments.

Simply, the operation of a spider boom pump involves three processes.

Firstly, the pumping process. Concrete is transported from the mixing plant or storage tank through a conveying pipeline into the hopper of the material feeder.

Next, mixing and conveying. Inside the placing machine, the concrete may be mixed further to ensure its uniformity, and then be transported to the nozzle of the placing boom through a high-pressure hose drive by strong pumping pressure.

Finally, concrete pouring process. Conducted by the control system, the placing boom arm, stretching and rotating, precisely pours concrete onto the terminate points.

Spider Placing Boom is a practical and economical solution for placing concrete in areas which cannot be directly reached by a truck-mounted or stationary concrete pump.

This piece of equipment is easily installed on the jobsite and can be connected to any of our boom pumps, to pour large areas without the need to work with the traditional heavy deadline system. The 12m Spider Boom can cover a total area of 450m2 from a single position and can then be easily shifted to repeat this until the pour is completed.
