Unlimited fresh air with insect screens - WAREMA

The transparency of gauze depends on its thread thickness. A fine-mesh fabric made of thin thread allows more light through than a coarse-mesh fabric made of thicker thread. For example, the WAREMA VisionAir pollen protection gauze is so fine that it allows 77 percent of light through, which makes it almost unnoticeable.

White screens in front of a window stand out much more than black screens. They do obstruct the view and are much more noticeable from the outside. However, the eye quickly grows accustomed to black screens and after only a short time hardly notices them at all. The view of the outside through the highly transparent fabric is almost unimpaired.

Screens will, of course, collect dust and pollen over time but that doesn’t mean they have to be replaced. Screens can be cleaned easily and thoroughly by removing the particles from the meshes with a soft brush. Important: Do not use any cleaning agents, which could clog the fabric.

All WAREMA gauzes are tested for air permeability in the laboratory to make sure that they provide a good supply of fresh air. The WAREMA VisionAir gauze insect screen has the highest permeability at 19,133 l/m²/s. This means that air can circulate freely around the room.

There are many different types of insect screens: fixed frames, rotating frames and sash frames, swinging doors, roller blinds and pleated blinds, as well as roller shutters and external venetian blinds with integrated insect screens. Almost all WAREMA fixed frames can be removed, for example, and, depending on the type of installation, this can be done quite easily. For example, spring-loaded corner plates allow the user to simply click out the frames to clean the outside window sill.

It is not true that fine gauzes made with thin threads are not particularly durable. The VisionAir pollen protection and fine dust gauzes from WAREMA will theoretically last for decades unless subjected to exceptional conditions. We would recommend, for example, that you protect screens from hailstorms, for example by lowering the roller shutters.

Depending on the perspective, the frames are visible when the window is open, but can be perfectly matched to the colour of the window frame to make them inconspicuous. The WAREMA Colour World offers a huge range of colours. Because no two shades of white are the same and the right colour lends the insect screen and window frame a harmonious overall appearance.

Nowadays, screens do much more than just keep insects out of your home. In rural areas, protection against pollen has also become important and people living in urban areas want lower levels of fine dust particles. For this reason, WAREMA offers both pure insect screens and its WAREMA VisionAir pollen protection and fine dust gauze, which keep out both 75 percent of fine dust and 93 percent of pollen.

If your windows and doors are an unusual shape or size, this will not prevent you from having professional insect screens installed. The WAREMA product portfolio includes bolted fixed frames with a maximum size of 3.5 square metres and sash frames of up to six square metres. These are manufactured individually and can be made in the exact dimensions required.

All types of insect screens from WAREMA are suitable for retrofitting and can easily be installed at a later date. Simply visit your local specialised retailer for sun shading systems. They will be happy to advise you and can arrange for you to have your insect screens professionally installed.
